Be a part of Illustrative in Berlin!

Monday, September 6th, 2010

Once more I’d like to bring focus to the Illustrative festival in Berlin. In my opinion, illustration and graphic arts are the most interesing elements of visual culture. Therefore, anything supporting that is worth a visit! I’ll be participating, and I’m looking forward to doing some non-commercial work, and competing against some of the very talented people around! I’ll put the official invitation in here, and be sure to visit their website for all the info

Gin n’ Bacon

Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010

The other day my buddy and I joked about a drink consisting of Gin and Bacon. We thought the name has a nice sound to it. The taste on the other hand, is completely vile. I was inspired by constructivist posters such as A.M Cassandre when I made it

funeral

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

It’s been a while since I posted anything. I’ve been really busy starting my final project in school, and there’s been tons of freelance work (will definately post that when I get the all-clear from the client).

It’s ironical that what I’m posting now is a personal project, since I have no idea how I managed to put the time down for it. It’s actually a drawing I’ve been working on for quite some time. It started as a sketch I made, just after my mom died a couple of years ago. At some point I scanned the sketch, and placed it in an Illustrator document. It’s been something that I’ve put a couple of minutes work into whenever I could find the time, and now it’s done.
I’m also posting the sketch, since that’s the piece of the artwork that actually means something to me. The finished render is just a lot of gradients and clipping masks ;)

Big Brother 2.0 illustrations

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

I’ve just started my final project at the Danish Designschool. I’m going to work with implementing illustrations in the online edition of the Danish newspaper Politiken. I rarely see any illustration work made exclusively for the online editions, and I think it’s about time that we do.

These first examples were made without taking the layout limitations into notice. I guess I was just doing one last free assignment before succumbing to rules and regulations ;)
The illustrations aren’t used on the site, but maybe one day some of my work will be. who knows?

The articles are about surveilance of the Danish Population, and the original articles can be found (in Danish) here

Newspaper cartooning

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

This is an example of the Newspaper cartoon project I’ve been working on. Most of them have involved Danish society, so they wouldn’t have made much sense translated. This one is pretty self explanatory I think

Vector illustrations for a collection of children’s songs

Monday, January 25th, 2010

I did these for a competition where the winning artist gets to illustrate about 80 different songs.

When Men Rode Robots part 2

Friday, January 22nd, 2010

In true movie-sequel style I’ve chosen to make another robot poster. I rarely find the time to do personal projects, which it seems is every designers regret. When I do find the time to do exactly what I want, I also think the passion shows. I’m quite satisfied with this, and would love to do commisioned work like this!

Teenagers spend all their time on electronics

Saturday, January 9th, 2010

An illustration for an article about how teens spend a lot of time on games, internet etc. and how it isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

Vector self portrait

Thursday, January 7th, 2010

I have made a self portrait as part of my project on caricatures. I’m really beginning to rely on shading via clipping masks, which Chris Leavens helped me understand in this article he wrote, describing his workflow.
